A la edad de 20 años Jason fue diagnosticado con el mal de Lou Gehrig, una enfermedad que va inmovilizando el cuerpo poco a poco a hasta dejarlo totalmente paralizado. Muy pronto empezo a perder la habilidad para tocar y parecía que habia quedado en el olvido, hasta que en 1996, sorprendentemente, salio a la calle su segundo trabajo Perspective, que incluye a varios de sus amigos y musicos invitados que tocan la música que el propio Jason compuso por medio de computadoras.
